Sound Design Projects

Under the Moon in Illinois (2022)

I am designing sound and original music for an upcoming audiobook, set to release at the end of this year.

You can listen to two of the stories here!

Mordhau Demo (2022)

Below are two clips continuing my exploration in replacing audio for video game footage. Here I focused on distinct immediate, nearby, and distant sound fields. I also experimented with placing sounds generated from enemy characters and other emitters in space. In the first video, I created an original soundtrack to complement the sound effects and practice creating victory music.

Podcast Theme (2020)

The following is an example project for a Dungeons and Dragons podcast. The audio includes intro, intermission, and closing versions of the theme.

Banjo Kazooie Demo (2019)

For this project, I practiced creating sound compositions for varying environments in a cartoon setting. I used a combination of modified audio clips and synthesized sound effects to create a contrast between the field, near-water, and underwater environments. I furthered this contrast by creating original soundtracks that reflected these environments. Below you can hear the clips with and without the soundtrack.

Max Payne Demo (2018)

The following sound design demo was an independent project I took in order to gain experience synchronizing sound effects with video game footage. The primary challenge with this project was incorporating the slow-motion effect of the video game in my sound design. I did this with a combination of time stretching, pitch shifting, and low-pass filtering. I also created an orchestral sound track to accompany the sound effects. I further enhanced the slow-motion effect by low-pass filtering my soundtrack while the game was in slow-motion.
